Spring 2008

May 1st - 4th (4 days)
The Great Puja of Gonkar (White Mahakala)
led by Lama Rinchen

To participate in the course the empowerment is required.

Thursday at 11:00 a.m. - the Gonkar empowerment (only for those who have taken Refuge in the Three Jewels);
at 2:30 p.m. - the first session of the Gonkar practice;
Friday and Saturday - two sessions of the practice daily at 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.;
Sunday at 9:00 a.m. - the last session.

Gonkar, know also as White Mahakala, is an body-emanation of the Black Six-armed Mahakala. He embodies pacifying and increasing activity of all Buddhas. Gaining perfect fulfilment of the practice is equivalent to gaining full Buddhahood. On temporal (worldly) level the White Mahakala practice leads to increase in vital power and longevity, merit and wisdom, as well as multiplication of a welfare. That is why Gonkar is known also as Yishin Norbu - Wish-fulfilling Jewel.
The blessing of
Gonkar Drubpa - elaborated ritaul of White Mahakala - brings benefit not only to the participants of the puja but also to all who have positive connections with them.

The practice of Gonkar comes from the Shangpa Kagyu tradition. In the Centre the transmission of this sadhana was given by His Eminence Tenga Rinpoche, who has very strong connections with the Shangpa practices. Presently Tenga Rinpoche is a source, from which the Lineage of the Six-Arms Mahakala was transmitted to such great lamas of the young generation, as H. E. Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche or Kalu Rinpoche.
