In the beginning of March, for six days, His Eminence Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche, invited by the Bhutanese organisation Zhenphen Jangsem Tsokpa, bestowed the oral transmission (Tib. lung) for the canonical collection of Prajnaparamita sutras, as well as teachings to the song “Thirty-seven Practices of a Bodhisattva”.
The event was attended by some fifteen thousand people, including many Tulkus, Rinpoches, Khenpos, monks and engaged practitioners.
On the day following the lung transmission, Rinpoche bestowed the empowerment of One Hundred Peaceful and Wrathful Bardo Deities (Karling Shitro), which was attended by 20.000 people.
As it is customary in Buddhist countries, the people have enthusiastically offered generous donations to support this Dharma activity. After deducting organisational costs, there was over three million Ngultrum (almost 200.000 PLN) left, which the Board of Zhenphen Jangsem Tsokpa offered to His Eminence. Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche offered this money to the Charity of the King of Bhutan with the intention of benefiting Bhutanese people.
Everybody took this gesture as an inspiring example to follow and at the same time as an expression of the fact that Rinpoche’s sole intention was benefiting all Bhutanese people through giving Dharma Teachings.
At the moment Rinpoche continues his travel in Bhutan bestowing transmissions and teachings in various monasteries.
