PROGRAMME REGISTRATION SUGGESTED DONATIONS FOOD GUIDE FOR PARTICIPANTS

PROGRAMME

Led by: Lama Rinchen

Gonkar empowerment will be given on Saturday 29th of April at 10:30 a.m. Next days there will be two sessions per day: at 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Seminar ends on Wednesday 3rd of May at about 4:30 p.m.

For active participation (recitation of the practice text with meditation on Gonkar), full transmission is required: empowerment, oral instruction and lung.

It is possible though, to be in the temple during sessions and do own practice or recite favourite prayers or mantras. You can also cover the costs of participation or meals of the participants or make a donation for the materials needed during the ritual (rice for the offering bowls, oats for tormas, butter for ornaments, tealights, incense, products for tsok etc.). Thanks to all these activities we accumulate merit and receive the same blessing of Gonkar as those who take active part in the practice. Blessing of Gonkar Drubpa – elaborated ritual of White Mahakala – benefits not only the participants of the puja, but also all who have positive bounds with them.

The Gonkar practice derives from the Shangpa Kagyu tradition. Gonkar, also called the White Mahakala, is an emanation of the black Six-Armed Mahakala. This deity embodies the pacifying and increasing activity of all Buddhas. Realizing the perfect fulfilment of this practice, means to achieve the perfect Buddhahood. On a mundane level, White Mahakala practice increases life forces and longevity, multiplies merit and wisdom, and enhances prosperity. Therefore, Gonkar is known as the Yishin Norbu - the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel.
