PROGRAMME REGISTRATION SUGGESTED DONATIONS FOOD GUIDE FOR PARTICIPANTS

PROGRAMME

Seminar begins on Monday 15th July at 9.30 a.m. and ends on Sunday 21st July at about 5 p.m.

Chakrasamvara (in Tibetan Khorlo Demchok or Khorlo Dompa) is the embodiment of the highest joy of all Buddhas. Along with Vajrayogini (Dorje Phagmo), who is his partner, this was the main Yidam of all the great lineage holders in the Kagyu tradition: Tilopa, Naropa, Marpa, Milarepa, Gampopa and the Karmapas. Marpa the Translator and the forefathers of the Kagyu lineage regarded the Chakrasamvara tantra as the essence of all other tantras.

Drubpa is a multi-day practice of a Yidam. The ritual includes, among others, making a sand mandala and a fire puja at the end.

The seminar is open to all participants. To actively engage in the practice (recitation of the text combined with meditation on Khorlo Demchog) one needs to obtain the full transmission: the empowerment, explanations and lung. The empowerment will be given by Sangter Rinpoche at the weekend of 13 to 14 July.

However, one is welcomed to sit in the temple during the session and engage in one’s own meditation or recite one’s favourite prayers or mantras. You may also sponsor accommodation or board for participants of the puja or donate towards the materials needed for the ritual (rice for bowls, oats for tormas, butter for decorations, tealights, incense, tsok supplies, etc.).

All these activities bring accumulation of merit and the same blessing of Khorlo Demchog as that received by those who actively participate in the practice.

Detailed schedule:
15th of July (Monday) at 9:30 - Khorlo Demczok sachok (the ritual of consecrating the ground and beginning the sand mandala);
16th - 17th of July (Tuesday - Wednesday) - shortened Khorlo Demochok puja in the morning (only dak kye), then making the sand mandala (only those who take part in practice can make the mandala);
18th – 20th of July (Thursday-Saturday) – 3-day Khorlo Demchok drubpa;
21th July (Sunday) – Khorlo Demchok fire puja (jinsek) and throwing the sand from the mandala into the river.

Those who have received the transmission and wish to acquire the text for practice are asked to place an order during registration.
