PROGRAMME

Led by: Lama Rinchen

Seminar begins on Monday 31th of July at 10:30 a.m. and ends on Sunday 6th of August at about 4:30 p.m.

Dorje Sempa empowerment will be given on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

Dorje Sempa empowerment
There are different transmission Lineages of Dorje Sempa practice. This particular empowerment comes down from Marpa. It is one of so-called ‘Three Special Deities of Marpa’.

Ngöndro – preliminary practices. They are called ‘preliminary’ since they bring a practitioner to spiritual maturation and prepare to apply profound Mahamudra teachings supported with mantrayana methods. Even small amount of Ngöndro repetitions purifies many defilements and accumulates much merit.

It is not the case, that every Buddhist must accumulate one hundred thousand repetitions of every part of preliminary practices. Nevertheless, if someone aspires to practice advance, secret meditations – for instance, such Yidams as Dorje Phagmo or Khorlo Demchok, as well as tummo and other practices from Six Dharmas of Naropa – accumulation of at least one hundred thousand repetitions of each Ngöndro practice is a necessary condition.

The four contemplations that turn the mind away from samsara are the ordinary preliminary practices, which will be explained in detail during the seminar.

Special preliminary practices:
1. Taking Refuge and developing bodhichitta, combined with prostrations
2. Dorje Sempa practice, purifying defilements
3. Offering mandala of universe, bringing accumulation of merit and wisdom
4. Guru Yoga, bestowing a blessing

During the seminar we will receive teachings on all four parts of Ngöndro but, above all, we will have an opportunity to practice together.
